Casa Odara is one block from the water: close enough to walk to the beach barefoot, set back enough to keep the quiet of the street. Holbox has no cars — you move on foot, by bicycle or by golf cart.

Transport
Getting to Holbox
Chiquilá ferry port
Ferries run through the day. You leave your car in Chiquilá — there are no cars on Holbox. Schedules change by season; ask us and we will send you the current ones.
Getting around the island
Sand streets and short distances. From the pier, Casa Odara is a short golf-cart ride away; once you are here, most of your days happen on foot.

What is around you
The beach
Shallow, warm and calm, with the sandbars that make Holbox look the way it does in photographs. Close enough to walk over before breakfast.
Town centre and main square
Restaurants, small kitchens, shops, murals and the plaza where the island gathers in the evening.
Punta Cocos
The sunset side: shallow water, few people and, on the right nights of the year, bioluminescence.
Punta Mosquito
A sandbar that appears with the tide, and one of the best places on Holbox for birdlife — flamingos among them, in season.
Whale shark season
Holbox is one of the few places in the world where you can swim alongside them, always with licensed operators and a limited number of boats.
Yalahau spring and the lagoon
A freshwater spring on the lagoon side, usually visited on the same boat trip as the bird island and the sandbars.
